Growing a Curve

He's discovered a masturbation technique that works very well for him, but now his erection.

Case #: 1445

Concern:

A few years ago I noticed that there is a problem with my penis. It seems to curve downwards in a sort of arc shape. I have been masturbating since I was 12 years or so and when I masturbate I use the tips of my fingers on the top of my penis. Is there any exercise or device I can use on my penis to get rid of the curve?

Discussion:

Most guys have a pretty good idea of what their penis is supposed to look like, erect or flaccid. They also have opportunities to give it a once-over at least a few times each day, which means that any perceived abnormalities usually gets noticed in short order. It's easy to link bruises, external scabs or other obvious injuries to their causes, but what about a sudden change in the shape or the appearance of inflexible tissue under the surface?

The Root Of The Matter

Your symptoms match something called Peyronie's Disease, whose signature feature is an extreme curve in any direction caused by scar tissue or “plaque” forming under your penis' skin. You could have produced this scar tissue over time, if your masturbatory habits from your youth prevented the corpus spongiosum and corpus cavernosum tissues from developing properly. If it only appeared recently, you could also have developed the scars more recently by masturbating too vigorously.

It's perfectly possible to injure yourself in such a way without realizing it, making tiny rips in the tissues away from the surface that your body can heal, but still producing scar tissue. To be fair, there are certain other possible causes of Peyronie's Disease with far more serious implications, such as an abnormal autoimmune response that produces plaque without any other noticeable cause, or even just genetic inclination for an “unusual” curve. I strongly recommend going to a health-care provider specializing in penis-care for a more detailed diagnosis.

The good news is that the plaque is perfectly ordinary scar tissue and is not a form of cancer. The bad news is that it can cause considerable discomfort or pain during intercourse.

Straightening The Curve

Your body can heal many injuries “adequately” under most circumstances, but to bring you back to as good or better than you were before the injury will require certain additional elements. First, you need to give your body time to fully heal. In the case of a penis injury, that means reducing erections or avoiding them as much as possible for three weeks or more. Think of it as the difference between driving on a temporary bridge over a river and driving over the permanent one; the permanent bridge takes much longer to build, but will last much longer than the temporary.

In the meantime, your health-care provider will offer several possible options. There are a number of possible surgical options with high rates of success. Certain oral medications are also viable choices, but only if administered relatively quickly after the plaque is formed. You should carefully consider taking an all-natural herbal supplement designed specifically for dealing with non-congenital penis curvature. (TRY: Natural Formula for Penile Curvature & Tissue Reparation) This formula includes all of the nutrients your body needs to bring its natural healing abilities up to the levels necessary to finish the “emergency” repairs that led to the plaque in the first place. Over time, the hardened tissue will dissolve and the naturally supple tissue will regenerate, restoring your penis to its more-familiar condition.

Please be patient and keep your health-care provider informed of what you're doing to deal with the problem. It may or may not have appeared over night, but the surest way to repair it properly is with care and diligence. Good luck!
